 I’m still serving as a firefighter and lead instructor in the fire service. This allows me to keep my skills fresh and continue learning every day—ensuring our courses are always evolving and delivering the most up-to-date, real-world training.

Before starting Safety Train, I spent eight years as an operational firefighter, gaining invaluable experience in real-life emergencies. During that time, I became a trauma instructor, training fellow firefighters in handling critical incidents. This ignited my passion for first aid and pushed me to raise the standards of workplace training.

I founded Safety Train with a clear mission: to transform workplace training. We don’t just tick boxes—we bring real-world experience, passion, and the highest standards to every course. I truly believe we can’t be beaten when it comes to delivering training that makes a real impact.

Recently, I decided to expand my expertise in mental health first aid after a serious accident in which I broke my back and neck. My recovery reinforced how closely mental and physical health are connected. That’s why I trained to deliver Mental Health First Aid at Work courses, ensuring our clients receive the full spectrum of workplace safety training.

Fire Safety Lead at Safety Train

Bringing 20 years of operational experience in the fire service to our training. This hands-on experience is invaluable, giving me a deep understanding of real-life emergencies and the critical skills needed to respond effectively.

As a serving Watch Commander, I’ve led teams in high-pressure situations, making me uniquely placed to deliver fire safety training that goes beyond theory. I’ve also dedicated time to educating apprentices, helping them develop the skills and confidence needed for success. Joining Safety Train felt like a natural progression—a perfect opportunity to combine my practical experience with my passion for teaching.

I’m also passionate about First aid, and the skills I’ve gained throughout my career play a huge role in the way I teach. At Safety Train, James and I share a firm belief that we can make a real difference. We’re not just teaching compliance—we’re giving people the skills and confidence to save lives.
