Course Overview:

Be prepared to recognise and respond confidently to allergies and anaphylaxis.

The Level 3 Award in Allergy and Anaphylaxis Awareness (RQF) is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and confidence needed to recognise allergic reactions, understand the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis, and respond appropriately in an emergency.


This Ofqual-regulated qualification is ideal for individuals working in schools, nurseries, childcare settings, healthcare, hospitality and other workplaces where an understanding of allergies and anaphylaxis is particularly important.

The course combines essential knowledge with practical, engaging training to help learners understand the risks associated with allergies and the importance of acting quickly when someone experiences a severe allergic reaction.


What's covered:

The Level 3 Award in Allergy and Anaphylaxis Awareness (RQF) course covers topics including:

  • Understanding allergies and allergic reactions
  • Common allergens and causes of allergic reactions
  • Recognising the signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction
  • Understanding anaphylaxis and how it can affect the body
  • Recognising the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis
  • Responding to an allergic reaction or anaphylactic emergency
  • Emergency procedures and when to call for further medical assistance
  • Understanding adrenaline auto-injectors
  • Practical use of adrenaline auto-injector training devices
  • Responsibilities when supporting someone with a known allergy
  • Reducing the risk of exposure to allergens


Assessments and Certification:

Learners will complete assessments to demonstrate that they have developed the knowledge and understanding required to recognise and respond appropriately to allergies and anaphylaxis.


Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive the Level 3 Award in Allergy and Anaphylaxis Awareness (RQF), an Ofqual-regulated qualification.
